Jake Shields has garnered a large following as a terrorist apologist and propagandist, while vocally hating Israel and Jews. These condemnations have taken precedence over criticism of attacks on the US, it’s allies, and American culture. His focus highlights the dangerous of the misnamed “America First” stance numerous public figures have adopted. One that’s seen antisemitism rewarded and weaponized by enemies of Western Civilization to subvert our country.

Proponents of this mindset, like Shields, Candace Owens, and Tucker Carlson, are exploiting a subset of “useful idiots” for personal gain. It’s a similar function extreme left advocates are providing for theocratic, fascist dictatorships and terrorist groups. In doing so, Shields and others are muddying the waters. Effectively compromising America’s core principles for rage clicks, creating obfuscation and chaos, leading to further division among citizens.

Jake Shields: from MMA to…the Middle East

As of this writing, Shields has amassed over 855,000 followers on his X account. He also has his own podcast. This long form format has become a trademark for comics who aren’t necessarily known for their stand-up routines. Several ex professional pugilists, like himself, also have their own radio style talk shows.

It’s not difficult to understand why. Podcasting has proven to be a lucrative endeavor for many personalities. Discussions spanning several hours allow for multiple advertisements to be aired in a single episode. Growth in the sector has been massive: surpassing $27 billion in 2024.

Podcast production value costs are also low when compared to other entertainment mediums. A studio set, some microphones, and a stationary camera or two are all that’s needed. Throw in some simple editing, which can be largely handled by AI software now, and your episode’s ready to go.

Islamism first

Grabbing the attention of listeners/viewers, however, is the key to being a successful podcaster. And it seems that Shields has managed to locate his base. Since the October 7th attacks, he’s publicly criticized Israel’s retaliation against Hamas in the state’s pursuit to retrieve its hostages.

What followed was a shocking wave of online support for Hamas. Disinformation campaigns first calling the attacks made up. Which were then relegated to being overblown. When this was proven untrue, the propaganda mutated to child rape and murder being justified simply because the victims were Jewish.

It didn’t take long to discover that the “Free Palestine” movement was indeed a psy-op conducted by the Chinese Communist Party. Social media accounts, protests, and disinformation campaigns were linked to foreign groups working to foment discord among Americans. Effectively turning America’s freedom of speech into a tool its population would use against itself. Many US citizens, Shields included, willingly took the bait.

It should come as no surprise that China has a vested interest in Iran. 92% of the CCP’s oil comes from Iran at a staggering 30% discount when compared to sales of other nations.

Jake Shields: anti-American

The grappler who trains with the Diaz brothers has secured a propaganda niche rooted in Jew hate. Simultaneously, he has declared support for terrorist organizations, like the Houthis. The group, which was backed by Iran, attacked US military ships, and have carried out initiatives against Israel and other neighboring countries.

He’s also responded to social media posts promoting Anti-Semitic propaganda. On February 14th, 2024, he commented on a photo of an American flag with a star of David on it. Writing: “This would be funny if it wasn’t our reality.”

Additionally, Shields expressed a belief that holocaust murder numbers were fabricated. He’s shared proven disinformation regarding the atrocities committed on October 7th, denying rapes, sexual violence, and genital mutilation ever took place.

Following this, he claimed that Israel “r*pes 80% of Palestinians they detain including men and children.” While Shields went on to state that he was citing accusations levied against the IDF, a common theme was apparent in his political commentary: Jewish hatred.

He proclaimed his admiration of Kanye West following the rapper’s appearance on the Alex Jones podcast. Shields wrote on X: “Jews control the media or music industry. And they will go into overdrive to get you canceled.”

The mixed martial artist also accused Israel of killing Jews in Iraq as a means of bolstering Israeli population numbers. Moreover, he claimed it was an operation that was pinned on Muslims, as a means to benefit a Zionist agenda.

Shields’ hatred for Zionists was further demonstrated in a February 26th X post. In an exchange on the platform, he openly wished that every Zionist would set themselves on fire as a form of protest.

Jake Shields support for Iran’s IGRC fascist regime

On numerous occasions, the fighter has expressed his concern for civilians dying in Gaza. Deaths he solely attributes to the IDF. He’s falsely furthered the lie that a genocide is occurring in the region, despite numerous investigations proving this isn’t the case.

Absolved from fault in Shields’ constant commentary on the conflict are terrorist organizations such as Hamas and the IGRC. Shields has prioritized condemnations of Israel while Gazan leadership kills it own people for seeking aid.

Folks online have taken notice of Shields’ priority: with numerous social media users stating the American “serves Hamas” but not his own country.

Sadly, it’s a trend that Shields, and other American public figures are continuing to engage in with the Iran conflict. On June 21st, 2025, Shields questioned whether or not the destruction of Iran’s nuclear sites benefits the USA “in any way?”

Replies indicate a clear distinction Trump supporters are making against far right commentators such as Shields. Throngs of responders highlighted the dangers an Islamo-fascist regime would pose to the world should it possess nuclear capabilities.

Iran’s destabilizing agenda

Others, like X user Ken Cornia, compared the precision striking against Iran nuclear facilities to the war in Kosovo. In their breakdown, they highlighted the importance of global positioning and working with allied nations. Moreover, Cornia spoke to the fact that Iran has been a longtime facilitator of global terrorism.

Additionally, Cornia illustrates a hypothetical scenario that would have disastrous effects on America’s global footing: Israel’s destruction at the hands of Iran. Shields, like many “America First” mouthpieces, have no qualms taking the word of regimes and terrorist groups who’ve vocally denounced US values. IGRC parliamentary leaders have burned American flags as part of their official proceedings broadcast across the nation.

Shields has also completely ignored movements within the country to topple the Ayatollah’s theocratic dictatorship. The former fighter has opted, instead, of be a mouthpiece for ideologists who condemn the values of the nation he resides in. Shields would rather condemn another democratic nation that is allied with his own.

He also neglects to acknowledge that Iran prior to the 1979 Islamic Revolution was a nation that enjoyed the separation of church and state, like America.

What are Jake Shields and other “America First” proponents fighting for?

Undoubtedly, many Americans have been left jaded by the aftermath of the Iraq War and the George W. Bush administration. Halliburton’s profiteering of the industrial military complex and the destruction of the US economy hasn’t been forgotten. Neither has “freedom fries” and the weaponization of uber-patriotic ideologies as a vehicle for stealing tax dollars.

It’s also concerning that there’s a slew of information circling the internet, like dated Q posts that delineate current geopolitical plans. The too-precise-to-be-coincidence uploads outline strategies years before they’ve come to fruition. Couple these with a visceral distrust of deep state machinations, and it’s easy to get caught up in prophecies that come true. And conspiracy theories that just need enough time to become reality.

But ultimately, facts cannot be ignored. And the mental gymnastics it takes to turn a blind eye to daily acts of terrorism, subverting western culture, individual sovereignty, and American values is exhausting. And real human beings, ones that Shields and others claim to care about, are dying as a result.

What should America First really mean?

What also can’t be ignored is that anti-American cultural sentiments have had disastrous effects in the western world. Non-Iranians are earnestly protesting for the protection of a theocratic dictator. One who advocates for the rape of virgin non-Muslim female captives. A leader who systematically carries out actual, documented genocides against minority groups. And one who came into power blasting American values as the nucleus of evil in the world.

Shields, and many others, have astoundingly bought into the idea that somehow, Jews, Zionists, and Israel, are behind all of this, however. And it’s insane that a country that has methodically orchestrated terrorist tactics for decades has successfully shilled this lie. A country that is being backed by another nation that is currently carrying out the largest genocide of Muslims in human history.

Shields, and others who espouse his viewpoints are hypocrites. He enjoys living in a democracy and is able to earn a living spewing hate speech. If he were to criticize the IGRC whilst living within Iran, he would be summarily executed, like so many protesters have been in the country. Simply for voicing their disapproval of a theocratic regime.

Jake Shields: poster child for bitter idiots

The obvious about Jake Shields must also be stated: he has zero knowledge or authority to be commenting on global affairs.

Mixed martial arts die-hards will remember Jake for his loss against Georges St. Pierre in Toronto. Or when he was seconds away from being choked out by Jason “Mayhem” Miller before being saved by the bell in Strikeforce. His lay and pray, grinding style of fighting prioritized setting up submissions, which led to 18 decision victories. But his fighting didn’t garner him a devoted fan base like Randy Couture or Dan Henderson.

In fact, another former UFC fighter and US soldier, Tim Kennedy expressed viewpoints diametrically opposed to Jake Shields’ ignorant hate speech. Unlike Shields, Kennedy has experience in armed conflict and a demonstrated understanding of Middle East conflicts. Furthermore, Kennedy broke down Hamas’ misinformation campaigns during an appearance on the Joe Rogan podcast. During his talk, he dispelled the perpetually debunked lies Shields propagates while applauding the militaristic standards the IDF adheres to.

But it seems that Shields, and his wave of like-minded imbecilic followers would rather focus their hatred towards Jews. In doing so, they’re rooting for a way of life they’d never want for themselves. For them, America doesn’t come first: bitterness-fueled propaganda, and the money that comes with it does.
